Time Warner Notifies Residents

Last May, Time Warner field surveyors left a number of door hangers at Alta Vista residences, saying that they “have found Time Warner Cable services active at [your] address.”

A call to Time Warner was returned by Supervisor John Gonzales who said there may be several reasons for so-called “active services” showing up on the signal scans. There is no implication that the resident is stealing cable service. Further, since all the recipients were Grande Communication customers, Mr Gonzales said this was not a sales drive in any way and Grande customers were not specifically targeted. Additionally, he said there would be no billing for the alleged “active services” at a later date.

If you receive any more such notices or bills from Time Warner, call the Alta Vista Help Line and we will recontact the company.

Graffiti Wiped Out! (Well, some of it anyway...)

wp4691c029_1b.jpg

Valiant Alta Vista eradicators gathered for the Fifth Annual Graffiti Paint Out September 27th, 2008, to cover the smearings of untalented spray painters. Last year such volunteer efforts saved the city an estimated $98,000. We owe them all a debt of gratitude!
