Vista Views

“Vista Views” is a place where AVNA Members can post comments about AVNA, issues regarding the neighborhood, and other concerns and thoughts. It is not the place to criticize neighbors, but it IS the place to praise someone you think deserves it. “Vista Views” is also the place where you can find official AVNA position statements and editorials. Alta Vista Goals for 2008

The 2008 Alta Vista Board of Directors have set their primary goals at addressing the continuing problems we face with slumlord code violations. Though we have seen an increased sale and rehabilitation of homes and apartments throughout the neighborhood, we still have a few absentee landlords and neighbors who just don’t care what their property looks, smells or sounds like. The Beautification Committee will deal this year with capitol improvements, clean-up and planting projects and the lobbying for funds needed to accomplish goals. The Membership Committee will up its efforts to increase membership of neighbors with a stronger emphasis on business support. Vice President Ellis Bless and Secretary/Treasurer Tracey Davis will explore animal spay and neuter programs for our feral and domestic animals. Past Presidents Kevin Cloonan will continue as Crime Committee head, David Sonenschein Hospitality and photographer duties, President Hector Cardenas has welcomed new board member Blue Cochran and is looking forward to her insight and help.
